SummerFest is the vision of three friends and residents of Henderson, Kentucky: Jonathan Dixon, Brian Bishop, and Greg “Moon” Mullins. The group started working together about five years ago, establishing the annual Henderson Wiffleball Classic. Last year, the group formed the Sons of Henderson, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing local events that benefit local charities. SummerFest, the culmination of several years of work and planning, was established in 2022.

Jonathan Dixon, a co-founder of SummerFest, said, “After the success and support of last year’s inaugural event, we decided to go a little bigger and grow this year. We’re bringing in a bigger stage, a bigger production, and three full bands. We hope to draw more people to downtown Henderson to enjoy this incredible event and, ultimately, to raise more dollars for our primary beneficiary this year, Audubon Kids Zone.”

Brian Bishop, a co-founder of SummerFest, chimed in, “Since the inception of SummerFest, our overreaching objective has been to have the maximum impact possible on our communities through an exceptional entertainment experience. This year, SummerFest will be the culmination of a full day of events happening across downtown Henderson. With multiple events chock full of experiences, we hope visitors book a room and spend the weekend with us.”

SummerFest is made possible by the generous support of sponsors, including Fence Pros LLC, Henderson Kentucky Tourist Commission, and Henderson Chevy-GMC.
